I used a $100.00 dollar straight edge and not a $20.00 common level since no concrete floor is level. When a house floods, the water will always accumulate to one side or another. Self leveling compound always seeks out its own level like water does. This is the no brainer reason why they make leveling compound that can be manipulated, so you can accomodate the uneven spots of any floor in any given point of a house or a business.
