How do I sound proof hard wood floors that have no sub floor in place?

When the hard wood floors were replaced the subfloor was removed creating a sound problem. Is there a way to effectively deal with this problem? Easily hear what is going on in the basement and on the first floor which is too annoying.
I know that if I keep searching for the solution I will ultimately succeed. What is the best sound proofer that I can install from beneath the floor that would shut out sound and vibration?

Is there a lower floor, such as a basement ceiling that you can access? There is sound deadening insulation that you could possible put into place. It’s a fiber glass or recycled paper item. My husband used it to sound proof his sound studio and it works quite well.
