Well, i know i can research the web but i was wondering if anyone here could recommend a place. Also, the chimney would go out through a window and go up. I know its not cheap, specially the stainless steel chimney.

do you guys recommend a wood stove? I heard pellet stoves require much more maintenance because of the mechanism is has.

Any info on wood stove experiences i would greatly appreciate it!

Do i have to use stainless steel? could i use something else?

Any good hardware store will stock the stove pipe you need. I have no experience with pellet stoves, have only used wood burning stoves. I would not install it with the pipe going out a window, prefer to have it through the roof.

You are correct that the stainless steel piping is expensive. This is due to being double or triple walled pipe. My first suggestion to you would be to check with your Homeowners Insurance. I found that a free standing wood stove would raise my rates by at least 10%. A built-in fireplace would not raise it at all. Lowes and Home Depot sell this piping.
